Vesna Mia Ipavec, M.A., Assistant

Vesna Ličer was born on 21 March 1975 in Šempeter pri Gorici. In 2001 she graduated from the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Arts under Janez Bogataj by presenting her thesis titled Družina v Gorenji Trebuši 1903–1953 (The Family in Gorenja Trebuša 1903–1953). In 2002 she started working for the Nova Gorica Museum and participated in the Phare program titled "Carnival Celebrations in the Gorizia Region Past and Present" (advisor: Slavica Plahuta). In March 2003 she started cooperating with the SASA Scientific Research Center, where she has been working as a research assistant since October 2003 with Naško Križnar as her advisor. In July 2005 she received her master’s degree at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology under Božidar Jezernik by presenting a thesis titled Monokulturno gospodarstvo na Goriškem (Monoculture Economy in the Gorizia Region). In 2005 she obtained the position of a research assistant and enrolled in the doctoral program “Intercultural Studies – Comparative Studies of Ideas and Cultures” at the Nova Gorica Polytechnic. Her field of research involves ethnological research in the Gorizia Region from the 19th century to the present.
