SUMMER SCHOOL OF THE VISUAL

Summer schools of the visual are a special form of extramural training in the use of modern methods for recording audiovisual material, as well as its analysis and editing, which take place each year in Nova Gorica. They are organized by the Ljubljana SRCA SASA Audiovisual Laboratory and the Nova Gorica Regional Unit of the Amateur Activities Fund, with the financial support of the Municipality of Nova Gorica.

The idea of the school is based on the premise that the skill of creating non-artistic film and video as used in science can be the basis for versatile use of visual information in various fields of educational, cultural, and research activity.

One of the main goals of the summer school is to transfer the knowledge from the field of visual research that is mainly conducted in the area of humanities into educational practice. In this way the fields of science and education are connected in a useful manner. In 2006 the Summer School of the Visual celebrates its 10th anniversary.
