KATJA JERMAN, Assistant



 

Katja Jerman was born in 1976 in Ljubljana, where she studied at the Faculty of Arts. In September 2001 she graduated from the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and the Department of History by presenting her undergraduate thesis titled Promenada v Ljubljani (The Promenade in Ljubljana), for which she received the Faculty of Arts’ Prešeren Award. Since 2003 she has been working as a research assistant at the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology. As part of her graduate studies at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology she is involved in urban ethnology and preparing a doctoral dissertation on the same subject.


Research interests: urban ethnology, urbanization, identifications, town, ethnic affiliation, border, marginality, community, micro-communities, Nova Gorica, Gorica/Gorizia.
